Alikhan Smailov discusses development of joint tourism projects with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Andorra

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Andorra, Maria Ubach Font, who is in Kazakhstan on an official visit.

The parties discussed trade, economic and investment cooperation, interaction in the field of tourism, as well as issues of strengthening bilateral dialogue within the framework of international organizations.

Alikhan Smailov noted that the potential for the development of trade and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Andorra was not fully realized. In this context, according to the Prime Minister, the expansion of bilateral ties in the field of tourism is of particular interest.

“Kazakhstan has significant potential for the development of almost all types of tourism. Considering your experience in this area, we invite you to implement joint mutually beneficial projects,” said Alikhan Smailov.

The Head of Government noted the importance of signing the Agreement on Waiving Visa Requirements for trips of citizens.

“I am sure that this document will give an additional impetus to the further development of bilateral relations and increase in the tourist flow,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

In turn, Maria Ubach Font noted that Andorra is also interested in finding new opportunities to strengthen mutual cooperation.

“A promising direction, in our opinion, is the development of ski tourism. Before coming to Nur-Sultan, I visited Almaty, including the Shymbulak resort, which is very popular among tourists. I think we can find new common grounds in this area,” said Maria Ubach Font.

At the end of the meeting, Alikhan Smailov emphasized that the visit of Maria Ubach Font is an important evidence of Andorra's interest in developing cooperation and strengthening economic ties with Kazakhstan.
