Yeraly Tugzhanov gets acquainted with progress of work on reducing deficit of places in Almaty schools

Today Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yeraly Tugzhanov arrived in Almaty on a working trip in order to get acquainted with the progress of work on the implementation of the instructions of the Head of State on issues of socio-cultural development and stabilization of the epidemiological situation in the metropolis.

Upon arrival, the Deputy Prime Minister together with the Deputy Akim of Almaty Yerzhan Babakumarov visited a new school under construction in the Alatau district.

It should be noted that this is the first school for 1,800 students (previously, the maximum capacity of facilities did not exceed 1,200 student places). Construction is underway in the microdistrict. Sayaly, where, taking into account internal migration and the construction of a number of residential complexes, the load on existing secondary education institutions is increasing. Thus, the construction of a new school is aimed at preventing three-shift education.

As of today, construction work is being carried out as planned, the commissioning of the facility is planned by the end of this year. For the organization of an effective educational process, a comfortable office fund, sports facilities, an assembly hall, etc. are provided. All classrooms will be equipped with modern equipment.

A total of 8 schools for 12,600 children are under construction in Almaty, 3 of which for 5,100 children (Sayaly microdistrict for 1,800 children, Tomiris microdistrict for 1,500 children, Kalkaman-2 microdistrict for 1,800 students) will be commissioned in December this year. The remaining 5 schools are scheduled for completion in 2022. In addition, the construction of 17 additional buildings for existing secondary education institutions and 13 private schools is nearing completion. Thus, by the end of this year, 16 thousand student places will be introduced in the megalopolis, which will reduce the existing deficit by 47%.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yeraly Tugzhanov instructed to continue the practice of building large-scale schools for 1,800 or more places in case of high population growth rates.

During the working trip of the Deputy Prime Minister, a number of working meetings are also planned on the sanitary and epidemiological situation, the development of creative industries, the Ulttyq Ruhani Zhangyru project.
