Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin meets with Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin

As part of his working trip to Moscow, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin held talks with Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, as well as the leadership of central government bodies, state corporations and financial and banking structures of Russia.

The heads of governments discussed issues of further building up Kazakh-Russian cooperation in trade, economic, financial and investment, energy and space spheres, as well as projects within the framework of industrial cooperation. Topical issues of interaction in the format of the Eurasian Economic Union were considered.

Particular attention was paid to joint measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 and mitigate the consequences of the pandemic for the economies of the two countries. An agreement was reached on the additional supply of 4 million doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to Kazakhstan.

“To defeat the spread of the virus, a high level of coordination of efforts of our countries is necessary, including in matters of mass vaccination of the population,” Mamin said.

The issues of preparation for the forthcoming in the second half of this year were also considered. in the city of Kokshetau the XVII Forum of interregional cooperation on the topic "Cooperation in the field of ecology and green growth.’’

The need to intensify work on the development and signing of the Comprehensive Program of Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation for 2021-2025 was noted.

Russia is a key foreign economic partner of Kazakhstan. The trade turnover in 2020 amounted to $18.2 billion. More than 10 thousand enterprises with the participation of Russian capital operate in Kazakhstan, which is 36.1% of the total number of enterprises with foreign participation.

At a meeting with the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov and the Director General of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev, the state and prospects for the implementation of joint projects in the manufacturing industry (pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, metalworking, the chemical industry, etc.), as well as the expansion of trade in a bilateral format were discussed and within the EAEU.

Topical issues of interaction between the two countries in the geological sphere were discussed with the Chair of the Board of Rosgeologia Sergei Gorkov.

Cooperation projects in the space industry were considered at a meeting with Director General of the Roscosmos State Corporation Dmitry Rogozin.

The trip was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar, Chair of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms - AIFC Governor Kairat Kelimbetov, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Beibut Atamkulov, Minister of Healthcare Alexey Tsoy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation Ermek Kosherbayev and others.
