Government takes measures to stabilize fuel situation — Alikhan Smailov

During his working trip to Pavlodar region, Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov visited the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant, which has recently come out of scheduled repairs.

Director of the enterprise Kuanysh Bishimov said that, despite the holding from 8 to 27 July repair work is planned, the plant for the first 7 months exceeded indicators for the production of diesel fuel, gasoline and other products.

The Head of Government emphasized the importance of this on the eve of the upcoming autumn field work.

"It is very important that the company worked steadily, that all the planned volumes of fuel and lubricants were produced and timely delivered to the market," Alikhan Smailov said.

The Prime Minister added that the Government is currently taking measures to stabilize the situation in the domestic market, as there is an export of diesel fuel and gasoline to neighboring countries.

"To minimize the risks of fuel and lubricants, we are now preparing solutions aimed at maintaining prices for domestic consumers and their adjustment for foreign consumers, so that prices correspond to the markets of neighboring countries. This will make it possible to steadily provide our citizens and businesses with fuel and lubricants," Alikhan Smailov noted.

The management of Pavlodar Oil Refinery also raised questions regarding the quality of oil supplied to the enterprise and provision of more freedom in purchasing equipment.

The Head of Government instructed the relevant state bodies to study them in order to make the necessary decisions.
