Housing and utilities and maternal mortality. Problems that Alikhan Smailov highlighted in Pavlodar region

As part of a working visit to the Pavlodar region, Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov familiarized with the development of the social sphere of the region and the work of industrial facilities.

So, the Head of Government assessed the development of the Dostyk microdistrict, the first phase of which is planned to be completed in 2023. At present, 6 new apartment buildings have been built here, 11 more houses and engineering communications are being built. Two schools for 2,000 places, two kindergartens for 600 places, a sport complex and an ambulance station will be built in the housing estate.

Alikhan Smailov reminded that the main principle of the new housing policy should be increasing of availability of housing, especially for socially vulnerable groups of the population, as instructed by the Head of State.

"Akimat of Pavlodar region should make every effort to develop housing construction, as well as modernization and reconstruction of heating networks. Special attention should be paid to the uninterrupted provision of heat and hot water supply to Pavlodar residents," the Prime Minister stressed.

The Head of Government added that currently there are negotiations with the Russian side on the gasification of the northern and eastern regions of the country.

Alihan Smailov also visited secondary school №7 with 880 pupils, where capital repairs were carried out under the Zamanaui Mektep regional program.

The Prime Minister noted that the country has taken systematic measures to develop education: new schools are built and existing ones are modernized, the state order and the number of grants are increased, teachers' salaries are increased annually. Particularly, 5 new schools are planned to be opened in the Pavlodar region by the end of the year.

"We have to ensure that children have a good learning environment. The Government will expand this work. At the same time, there are still problems with the queue in kindergartens and a shortage of student places in the region. You need to urgently solve this problem," the Head of Government said.

Another item of the working visit of the Prime Minister was a visit to the regional perinatal center for 160 beds, launched in 2015.

Alikhan Smailov stressed that the financing of the health sector is increasing annually, at the same time the region has quite high rates of infant and maternal mortality.
