Alikhan Smailov introduces new Minister of Trade and Integration to Ministry's employees

The Prime Minister, Alikhan Smailov, introduced Serik Zhumangarin, the new Acting Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to the employees of the Ministry of Trade and Integration.

The Head of Government noted that Serik Zhumangarin has extensive managerial experience as head of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition.

"Serik Makashevich is a responsible and proactive person, so I am sure he will be able to prove himself in this responsible position," said Alikhan Smailov.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Head of State notes the great importance of trade in the development of the economy, as well as the strengthening of close economic and integration ties with neighboring countries.

"The ministry is facing important tasks. Of course, these are the development and regulation of internal trade, improvement of trade infrastructure, expansion of exchange and electronic trade," said Alikhan Smailov.

According to the Head of Government, it is also necessary to pay great attention to the protection of consumer rights, and the development and promotion of exports of non-resource goods and services, as well as work in the field of technical regulation and standardization.

"Monitoring of prices for socially important goods and development of measures to stabilize them — this is a particularly acute issue in society, which should be given the closest attention. Serik Makashevich, we hope that you will justify the high trust of the Head of State," the Prime Minister concluded.

The former head of the Ministry, Bakhyt Sultanov, thanked the staff of the Ministry of Trade and Integration for their joint work and wished the new Minister success in his new position.
