Alikhan Smailov sets tasks for new Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs

Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov has outlined priorities for his new deputy, Altai Kulginov. He will be in charge of social issues in the Government.

Thus, Deputy Prime Minister will take control over issues of development of education and science, healthcare, social modernization, employment, development of culture and sports, tourism, state youth and family policy, modernization of public consciousness, provision of interdenominational and interethnic harmony, state language, demographic and migration policy, etc.

Alikhan Smailov wished Altai Kulginov productive work and success in his new post.

Kulginov was born on January 15, 1978. He graduated from the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Yasawi, from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and from the British University of Aberdeen under the Bolashak Presidential International Education Program.

He worked at the Civil Service Agency, the Ministry of Justice and the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan in various years.

In 2013-2016, he was the Akim of Uralsk.

In 2016-2019, he served as Akim of West Kazakhstan region.

In 2019, he was appointed Akim of Astana.
