Problem of access of industrial enterprises to raw materials in Kazakhstan solved within the framework of instructions of the Head of State — Beibut Atamkulov

A briefing was held at the press center of the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on measures to implement the instructions of the Head of State given in the Address to the people Kazakhstan "Unity of People and Systemic Reforms — Solid Foundation for the Country's Prosperity". During the briefing, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Beibut Atamkulov answered the questions of journalists.

In his Address to the people of Kazakhstan, the head of state spoke about the need to solve the problem with industrial enterprises' access to raw materials: the importance of reasonable prices and sufficient quantities of raw materials for the processing sector.

According to the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Beibut Atamkulov, the order of the Head of State has already been worked out by the ministry.

First, the draft Law "On Industrial Policy" includes the competence of the ministry to develop and approve rules for providing processing enterprises with raw materials at an affordable price. The bill is already under consideration by the Majilis of the Parliament.

“Before the adoption of the law, we held negotiations with enterprises and agreed on prices and supplies,” Atamkulov said.

With metallurgical enterprises, processing enterprises, and we have 37 large companies processing copper, aluminum and lead, it was decided to conclude trilateral memorandums on the provision of raw materials between the ministry, metallurgists and processors.

Taking this opportunity, the minister informed the journalists about the volumes of processing of aluminum, copper and lead in Kazakhstan, as well as about the products they produce.

According to the ministry, as a result of the measures taken, the volume of production in the country will increase.

  • 2 times at 18 aluminum processing plants;
  • 5 times the production of copper products at 17 enterprises;
  • 2.5 times in lead processing.

Also, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Beibut Atamkulov was asked questions of particular relevance today about the timing of the completion of the reconstruction of the Karagandy - Almaty road and the development of roadside service along the highway.

“Now many are concerned about this issue, since the Karaganda-Almaty section is included in the main road corridor Center-South and connects the northern part of our country with the south. Full-scale work is underway there now,” Atamkulov said.

The length of the road is 946 km and includes four main sections of the reconstruction of Karaganda - Balkhash (363 km), Balkhash - Burylbaital - Kurty (547 km), Kurty - Kapshagai (67 km).

According to the minister, the project provides for a 4-lane category 1 traffic with appropriate barriers and appropriate infrastructure.

Completion of the reconstruction of the section of Karaganda - Almaty is envisaged in 2023.

The minister also spoke in detail about the state of the roadside service along this route.

“Now there is an active development of domestic tourism and roadside service issues — a very important link in this issue,” Atamkulov said.

According to the minister, at present, at the expense of private investments, it is planned to build 9 roadside service facilities of category A, camping. This is approximately the area of ​​the Aksu-Ayuly village (2 points), bypass at Balkhash, Burylbaital, Kurty and Kapchagai.

In addition, of the existing 120 roadside service facilities, only 60 meet national standards, 2 belong to category B and 77 — category C.

“Today we are working with local executive bodies, representatives of small and medium-sized businesses to improve roadside service,” said Atamkulov.
