Oil and gas development issues discussed by Alikhan Smailov and Shell representatives

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held a meeting with Shell Exploration and Production Director Zoe Yujnovich on Thursday, 24 November.

They discussed current issues of development of the fields Karachaganak and Kashagan, plans to launch projects in the field of gas processing and petrochemicals, as well as measures to reduce production risks.

Alikhan Smailov noted that Kazakhstan will continue to implement measures to improve the investment attractiveness of the oil and gas industry.

In turn, Zoe Yujnovich confirmed the company's readiness to continue to strengthen its bilateral partnership. In particular, to develop projects in the field of oil and gas processing.

In conclusion, the Prime Minister stressed that the Government is interested in continuing cooperation on a mutually beneficial basis with a balance of interests.
