Olzhas Bektenov instructs to make housing waiting lists transparent and understandable by the end of six months

At the Government session Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov on the issue of housing construction and completion of problem objects heard the report of the Minister of Industry and Construction Kanat Sharlapayev, as well as akims of a number of regions.

Olzhas Bektenov said that the Government had set a number of important tasks in the field of housing construction this year including commissioning of a record 18 million square metres of housing, launching a new mortgage programme on the instructions of the Head of State, as well as solving systemic problems of shared construction and illegal construction.

Prime Minister stressed that currently more than 650 thousand citizens are on the waiting list for housing. In 2023, regional akimats have started work to check applicants for compliance with the requirements for participation in the housing programme. Thus, in Akmola region about 16 thousand unscrupulous citizens were identified, in Shymkent more than 36 thousand people. At the same time, only a small part of Kazakhstani citizens who violated the conditions are excluded from the queue.

Prime Minister instructed akimats to update the lists by the end of the first half of the year, and further to monitor the implementation of the housing programme.

"All akimats need to complete the work on updating the lists of the housing queue by the end of the 1st half of the year. Everything must comply with the established rules. Enrolment in the queue should be made transparent and understandable. Also, there should be a clear monitoring of people already included in the lists," Olzhas Bektenov said.
