Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov had a telephone conversation with the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Presidential Affairs of the UAE Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Presidential Affairs of the UAE Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated Alikhan Smailov on his appointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Sheikh Mansour Ben Zayed Al Nahyan expressed condolences to the families of Kazakhstanis who died during the January events, wishing peace and prosperity to all the people of Kazakhstan.

The parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen the strategic partnership.

According to the results of 11 months of 2021, the volume of mutual trade between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the UAE amounted to $673.7 million, which is almost 50% more than the figure for the same period in 2020 and significantly exceeds the pre-pandemic level of 2019.

About 300 joint ventures operate in Kazakhstan with the participation of Emirati capital. During the years of Independence of Kazakhstan, the volume of direct investments of the United Arab Emirates in the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to $2.4 billion, investments of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the UAE exceeded $1 billion.

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov noted that the UAE is an important trade and economic partner of Kazakhstan in the Arab world.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates.
