Over 8 million Kazakhstanis received first component of coronavirus vaccine

At the government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country was considered.

Minister of Healthcare Alexey Tsoy reported that the sanitary and epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan remains stable. In all regions, the incidence rate, the number of severe cases and those on inpatient and outpatient treatment have been significantly reduced.

The reproductive index of the virus is 0.97. The workload of infectious beds is 34%, intensive care beds — 29%.

To date, more than 8 million people have been vaccinated with the first component of the coronavirus vaccine, about 7.2 million people — with the second component. The task is to achieve 60% of herd immunity.

Shymkent, Aktobe, Turkistan, Zhambyl, Mangystau and Kyzylorda regions are in the green zone in terms of the spread of coronavirus infection, Atyrau, Almaty, Karaganda, West Kazakhstan and East Kazakhstan regions are in the yellow zone. The cities of Almaty and Nur-Sultan, Akmola, Kostanay, Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan regions remain in the red zone.

The flu vaccination continues in Kazakhstan. To date, 1.4 million Kazakhstanis have been vaccinated against influenza.

The Prime Minister instructed to continue the vaccination against coronavirus and influenza.
